Steamed Asparagus

Steamed Asparagus

Isn’t it wonderful to have friends who share their garden’s asparagus bounty with you? Is there any vegetable more delicious than garden fresh asparagus. It is so sweet and tender it seems to almost have a buttery taste!

Today I even planted a few asparagus crowns in our own tiered and raised bed garden. Granted, we won’t get any edible stalks for two to three years, but it’s still good to plan ahead!

Now I can’t think of a better jazz song to go with steamed asparagus than “Fever” sung by Peggy Lee. Both the song and the singer are indelibly iconic!
