Two years ago us kids got my dad a portable fire pit for our backyard patio. He loves to sit on the bench by his above-ground, metal fire pit with a carefully designed fire in it! So do us kids, but we also like a little food!
Technically, we may not have made these chili dogs over a campfire, but it was over an open flame. This is really just about the easiest campfire meal ever.
Always plan for a safe fire situation! On that thought, take a listen to “I Don’t Want to Set the World on Fire” sung by jazz vocalist Betty Carter.
